LISA DILLON Book Lisa trained at The Royal Academy of Dramatic Arts. She has recently been in the Old Vic’s production of Design for Living and is currently appearing in their production of A Flea in her Ear. She won the Critics’ Circle Award for Most Promising Newcomer and the Ian Charleson Award for her performance as Hilda in The Master Builder at the Albery Theatre. On television she is best known for the role of Mary Smith in the BBC’s period drama Cranford. Her theatre credits include Private Lives at The Vaudeville; Under the Blue Sky (West End); The Hour we Knew Nothing of Each Other, Present Laughter (National Theatre); The Cherry Orchard (Sheffield Crucible); As You Like It (Sheffield Crucible/Stratford); Othello (RSC Stratford/Japan/West End); The Master Builder (West End) and Iphegenia (Sheffield Crucible). Her film credits include Bright Young Things, whilst on television she has most recently been seen as Mary Smith in the BBC’s award-winning Cranford. Also for the BBC she has been seen in Hawking and Cambridge Spies. She will be playing the role of Lucy in the World Premiere of David Eldridge’s new play “The Knot Of The Heart” which opens at The Almeida in March 2011. Lisa began working on the book for ‘Secrets of Soho – The Musical’ with Tim Arnold in 2009. As well as writing the book, Lisa has contributed to all aspects of the musical, including music and lyrics. |
